SUMMARY OF THE LIBRETTO
PROLOGUE
Playground. A philosopher ponders the idea of the creation of the World. Is the world a safe place or a frightening place? What is its original cause? All the playground participants accompany him in his search for answers.
ACT I
The carefree party is interrupted by the appearance of the self-proclaimed ruler - Pudor (Shame). Everyone is forced to abandon authenticity and immediately assume the social roles imposed on them. Only Calliope remains defiant in the face of intimidation and pressure. To the general dismay of her fellows, she challenges the meaning of hurtful social roles and age-old ways of enforcing obedience, such as shaming, inducing guilt and inducing fear. Her disobedience generates Pudor's anger and desire for revenge.
ACT II
Imprisoned and alone, Calliope confronts her deepest fears. This is where she asks herself about the origins of Identity, Ego and the essence of the Soul. Is it possible to get out of the Labyrinth? This question relates to both the earthly human experience in matter and the Soul's endless journey through various difficult experiences. She would like to find a way to alleviate the suffering of all beings on earth.
Act III
Pudor savors the suffering of tormented human beings. All he lacks for complete victory is Calliope's soul. He offers her a deal - she is to submit to the intrusive dogmas imposed by Pudor and thus guarantee her sisters and brothers a lesser dimension of suffering. Calliope realizes that the kind of despicable game Pudor proposes will contribute to even more suffering. Calliope, as a human being, is unable to win this unequal battle. She turns to a Higher Power for help. Her cry is heard. The illusion of a world based on an executioner-victim relationship subsides. All unhealthy relationships burn in the fire of truth.
