Regulations for ticket reservation and sales

REGULATIONS
FOR TICKET RESERVATION AND SALES
AT THE GRAND THEATRE IN ŁÓDŹ
as of January 30, 2024
 
This Regulation defines the rules for selling tickets for events at the Grand Theatre in Lodz.
 
§ 1 TICKET RESERVATION RULES
 
1. The purchase of a ticket to the Grand Theatre in Łódź implies acceptance of the "Regulations for Ticket Reservation and Sales at the Grand Theatre in Lodz" and the "Audience Regulations of the Grand Theatre in Lodz."
2. The theater reserves the right to make changes to the repertoire or cast of a performance. Information about changes is announced on the theater's website at www.operalodz.pl.
3. Reservations for individual tickets can be made in person or by phone at the theater's box office or the Audience Service and Theatre Promotion Office (hereinafter "ASTPO").
4. Ticket offices are located at the theater's headquarters - Dąbrowskiego Square, 90-249 Lodz
The Audience Service and Theatre Promotion Office is located at the theater's headquarters - entrance from Dąbrowskiego Square.
5. Current opening hours of the Ticket Offices and ASTPO are available on operalodz.pl.
6. A reservation can be accepted after obtaining the following information from the person making the reservation:
  • Full name of the person making the reservation,
  • Contact phone number,
  • Type of ticket being reserved.
7. Individually reserved tickets must be paid for and collected no later than 7 days after the reservation is made, but not later than five calendar days before the event the ticket pertains to. After this period, the reservation will be canceled.
8. Individually reserved tickets made within five calendar days before the event must be paid for and collected on the day of reservation by 7:00 PM or by the end of the ticket office's working hours on that day.
9. The Grand Theatre in Lodz employee handling the reservation is obliged to provide the person making the reservation with the date, time, and location of the event, reservation number, price, and ticket collection deadline.
10. Reservation of tickets for a group requires a written order (confirmation) from the buyer - submitted in person, sent by traditional mail, or by email to the Audience Service and Theatre Promotion Office (widz@teatr-wielki.lodz.pl).
11. The written order should include the following information:
 
  • Name, address, and contact phone number of the entity/institution/company on whose behalf the reservation is made,
  • Full name of the person placing the order,
  • Time, date, and title of the event,
  • Type, quantity, price, and value of the ordered tickets,
  • Payment method,
  • Ticket collection method,
  • NIP (Tax Identification Number) of the buyer if an invoice is requested, and payment by bank transfer,
  • Signature of the authorized person representing the entity on whose behalf the reservation is made and incurring financial obligations.
12. Reserved group tickets must be paid for and collected no later than 21 days after the reservation is made, but not later than five calendar days before the event the tickets pertain to. After this period, the reservation will be canceled.
13. The Grand Theatre in Łódź reserves the right to change the ticket collection date for individual events. In such a situation, the theater employee handling the reservation is obliged to inform the person making the reservation of the changed ticket collection date.
 
§ 2 TICKET SALES
 
1. Ticket sales at the Grand Theatre in Lodz are conducted at ticket offices located at the theater's headquarters - entrance from Dąbrowskiego Square, open on the following schedule:
 
  • Monday to Saturday from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM,
  • Sundays and holidays – during performances: from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM or at a location where the theater provides such an option.
2. Information about current changes in the working hours of ticket offices is posted on the theater's website: www.operalodz.com.
3. Payment for purchased tickets can be made in cash, by bank transfer, or credit card.
4. An invoice for purchased tickets can be issued upon the explicit request of customers for tickets purchased at the theater's ticket office. The customer should inform the ticket office employee of their NIP (Tax Identification Number) and other necessary data for issuing an invoice before printing the sales receipt.
5. In case of cancelation of a performance/concert, the theater refunds the payment for purchased tickets.
6. In addition to the Theater's ticket offices, tickets are also sold online through the website www.bilety24.pl. Online ticket sales are governed by the regulations of the www.bilety24.pl portal.
7. The Grand Theatre in Lodz reserves the right to introduce changes to the price lists. Changes cannot affect the prices of already purchased tickets.
8. The Grand Theatre in Lodz reserves the right to reserve and sell tickets for selected events as part of special price promotions, determined individually.
9. Rules for booking and selling tickets for events organized at the Grand Theatre in Lodz by external entities (so-called external events) are determined each time by the event organizer.
10. Reserved and prepaid tickets, paid by bank transfer, can be collected at the theater box office until the day of the event. For the audience's comfort, we kindly request ticket pickup no later than half an hour before the start of the event. The theater does not provide ticket shipping or delivery.
11. In the event of reasons beyond the control of the Grand Theatre in Lodz, the theater reserves the right to change the venue, program, performers, and the dates of concerts/shows/artistic events. Information about any changes will be posted on the theater's website: www.operalodz.com.
12. The Grand Theatre in Łódź offers the following types of tickets:
 
Regular Ticket: Ticket prices are determined before each season based on separate regulations by the director of the Grand Theatre in Łódź.
Concession Ticket: Ticket prices are determined before each season based on separate regulations by the director of the Grand Theatre in Łódź.

Concession tickets are granted to:

  • Primary and secondary school students, vocational school students with a valid school ID (excluding premieres, special events, and external events).
  • University students (both undergraduate and postgraduate) up to the age of 26 with a valid student ID (excluding premieres, special events, and external events).
  • Retirees and pensioners with proof of receiving benefits along with an ID (excluding premieres, special events, and external events).
  • Individuals with a certified disability.
  • Guardians taking care of wheelchair users.
  • Honorary Blood Donors with an HDK card.
  • Marrow Donors with a valid ID or "Transplant Donor" badge.
  • Teachers of artistic education institutions with employment certification in an artistic institution.
  • Individuals awarded the "Meritorious for Culture Gloria Artis" medal and holders of the "Meritorious for Polish Culture" badge.
  • Employees of other theaters with ID confirming employment in the theater.
Family ticket for holders of the Large Family Card: The Grand Theatre in Łódź honors the Regional Large Family Card. Cardholders can purchase one ticket with a 50% discount off the regular ticket price. This discount does not apply to premiere performances, special events, and external events organized at the Grand Theatre in Łódź. The theater box office is required to record the card number for tickets purchased with a discount.
 
Tickets for participants of the "Closer to the Grand Theatre" campaign ("Campaign") are entitled to groups of students from schools that have signed the participation declaration. These tickets are sold for selected performances in a designated seating area. The number of tickets is limited and determined by the theater. The ticket price for the Campaign is established based on separate regulations by the director of the Grand Theatre in Łódź. The director may decide to sell Campaign tickets in other seating areas and for special performances (events). Groups are entitled to 1 free seat for the group's supervisor (one supervisor per 15 people). 

Premiere subscriptions - discounted tickets for premiere performances. Ticket prices for each calendar year are determined based on separate regulations by the director of the Grand Theatre in Łódź. The subscription includes premiere performances in the specified period and entitles the buyer to occupy a fixed, designated seat in the audience. The subscription's validity ends after the planned premieres for a given season have been realized, which, at the director's discretion, may be transferred to the next year (season). An unused subscription, for reasons not attributable to the theater, is not a basis for the buyer to request a refund equivalent to the ticket value.

Free ticket - supervision: the rule is one free seat for the group's supervisor (one supervisor per 15 people). In the case of groups from integration schools, the rule is one free seat for the group's supervisor (one supervisor per 10 people). Free tickets can be obtained by:
  • Supervisors of groups of students from schools that have signed the "Closer to the Grand Theatre" campaign declaration.
  • Supervisors of groups of students from integration schools.
  • Organized groups whose participants have disabilities.
    • The director of the Grand Theatre in Lodz may, in individual cases, decide to grant "free supervision tickets" to groups of children and youth from care and educational institutions.
    • Golden Special Ticket - a ticket with a value equivalent to a regular ticket in the I zone (according to the price list for a specific event), increased by PLN 60, entitling the holder to refreshments in the VIP lounge during the event's intermission, located on the second floor of the theater. To use the privileges granted by the Golden Special Ticket, the holder must present this ticket to the VIP lounge staff each time (located on the second floor of the theater). In case of loss, the holder cannot take advantage of the possibilities provided by the Golden Special Ticket.
    • The Golden Special Ticket can be purchased like any other ticket to the Grand Theatre in Lodz.
    • The Golden Special Ticket is not subject to promotions and discounts.
    • The Golden Special Ticket does not apply to guest events.
    • If the holder of the Golden Special Ticket does not use the privileges granted to them, they are not entitled to a refund.
 
Group ticket: when purchasing a minimum of 15 tickets, a 20% discount applies. Group tickets can be purchased in any zone, with the applicable discount from the regular or concession ticket price.
13. The rules and prices for theater performances do not apply to external events.
 
§ 3 TICKET REFUNDS
1. It is possible to refund cash for an individual ticket purchased for an event organized by the Grand Theatre in Lodz. 
2. When refunding at the theater box office, it is necessary to present the receipt or VAT invoice for the refunded tickets.
3. Refunds for individual tickets can be made no later than 3 calendar days before the event (excluding the day of the refund and the date of the event). Refunds are not possible on the day of the event.
4. Group tickets can be refunded no later than 5 calendar days before the event (excluding the day of the refund and the date of the event). Refunds are not possible on the day of the event.
5. Individual tickets purchased online through the bilety24.pl are not eligible for refunds.
6. In the event of canceling an external event, the ticket price refund will occur based on the presented ticket along with the fiscal receipt, only for tickets purchased at the Grand Theatre in Lodz box office.
 
§ 4 INFORMATION FOR AUDIENCES WITH DISABILITIES
1. The Grand Theatre is adapted for people using wheelchairs.
2. The wheelchair ramp is located on the eastern side of the theater, entrance from Dąbrowski Square.
3. The Grand Theatre in Łódź has a passenger elevator (internal cabin dimensions: 109x140x210 cm, dimensions within the handrails installed in the cabin at a height of 90 cm: 91x132 cm, capacity 630 kg) adapted for wheelchairs.
4. Due to the technical specifications of the audience and safety, the wheelchair spaces are located between the ground floor and the amphitheater. It is not possible to drive a wheelchair and place it in a row in the audience (ground floor, amphitheater, lodges, balcony).
5. Due to technical conditions, the number of seats in the audience for wheelchair users is limited. The presence of a person accompanying a person using a wheelchair is required. The companion should purchase a ticket for the designated seat. 
6. The theater provides reservations for special seating areas designated for individuals using wheelchairs. Reservations for these seats can be made by phone at the Theater's Audience Service and Promotion Office at least 3 days before the event.
7. Due to technical and safety reasons, the theater reserves the right to disable or limit the availability of seats for individuals using wheelchairs for selected events.

§ 5 INFORMATION FOR BLIND AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED AUDIENCE MEMBERS AND INDIVIDUALS WITH MOBILITY IMPAIRMENTS REQUIRING GUIDE DOG ASSISTANCE
 
1. The theater provides assistance to blind and visually impaired individuals to navigate within the theater, ensuring the best possible service during the event. We kindly ask for prior contact with the Audience Service and Promotion Department by phone at +48 42 633 31 86 or via email at widz@teatr-wielki.lodz.pl.
2. In accordance with Article 20a, paragraph 1, point 1 of the Act of August 27, 1997, on vocational and social rehabilitation and employment of persons with disabilities (Journal of Laws 2023.100 consolidated text of January 13, 2023), the theater ensures access to events for individuals with disabilities with assistance dogs.
3. The condition for the entry of the assistance dog is equipping the dog with a harness, and the person with a disability must possess a certificate confirming the assistance dog's status and a certificate of required veterinary vaccinations.
4.Responsibility for damages caused by the assistance dog lies with the person with a disability.
5. The person with a disability is not required to muzzle the assistance dog or keep it on a leash.
6. In case the assistance dog disrupts the course of the event, theater staff may request control over the animal, and ultimately, request leaving the theater without the possibility of a ticket refund.
7. Individuals using assistance dogs during events are not subject to any additional fees.
8. If a ticket is purchased in a location that hinders the presence of the assistance dog next to a person with a disability, theater staff may request a seat change to ensure comfort for both the viewer with the dog and other audience members.
 
§ 6 Clause on the Processing of Personal Data
 
Considering the care for the proper processing of personal data, the Grand Theatre in Łódź, in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (hereinafter referred to as "GDPR"), especially Art. 13 - 15 of the GDPR, kindly informs as follows:
 
1. The controller of your data is the Grand Theatre in Lodz, Dąbrowskiego Square, 90-249 Lodz
2. You can contact the data controller via email: teatr@teatr-wielki.lodz.pl.
3. The Data Protection Officer has been appointed, and you can contact them by phone at +48 42 630 13 51 and by email: iod@teatr-wielki.lodz.pl.
4. The Data Protection Officer can be contacted for all matters related to the processing of personal data and the exercise of rights related to data processing.
5. Providing personal data is voluntary. In case of not providing the data indicated in the Regulations, the Theatre will not be able to make a ticket reservation.
6. Your data will be processed for:
  • the purpose of performing a contract in which the data subject is a party or taking pre-contractual steps at the request of the data subject - based on Art. 6(1)(b) of the GDPR. Under this basis, the Administrator processes personal data to enable ticket reservations, contact with persons making reservations or purchasing tickets, and to fulfill legal obligations incumbent on the Administrator - based on Art. 6(1)(c) of the GDPR,
  • for purposes arising from the legitimate interests pursued by the administrator - based on Art. 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. The interests of the administrator are related to the necessity for the administrator to take actions related to the conducted activities, especially the realization of projects organized by the Theatre (concerts, artistic events),
  • prevent, combat, especially prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases - based on Art. 6(1)(e) in connection with Art. 9(2)(i) of the GDPR.
 
7. Recipients of your personal data will be Theatre employees, within the scope of their official duties, based on the authorization granted to them. Personal data may also be transferred to entities supporting the Administrator in providing services, with such entities processing data based on agreements concluded with the Administrator and solely in accordance with his instructions.
8. Personal data will not be transferred to a third country or international organization.
 
9. Your personal data will be processed:
  • for the period of the legitimate interest of the administrator unless you object to the processing of data (in accordance with Art. 21 of the GDPR),
  • for the time of full completion of all obligations related to the processing purposes of your data (including the expiration of claims by public/tax authorities).
10. You have the following rights related to the processing of your personal data by the Grand Theatre in Łódź:
  • the right to request access to your personal data from the controller,
  • the right to rectify data,
  • the right to erase data,
  • the right to restrict processing,
  • the right to data portability (if technically possible),
  • the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority (President of the Office for Personal Data Protection) in connection with the processing of personal data by the Administrator.
11. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time - if the processing is based on Art. 6(1)(a) of the GDPR. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out before its withdrawal.
12. Consent can be withdrawn by sending a relevant email to: teatr@teatr-wielki.lodz.pl.
13. We would like to assure you that the Grand Theatre in Łódź makes every effort to ensure all physical, technical, and organizational means of protecting personal data from accidental or intentional destruction, accidental loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure, use, or access, in accordance with all applicable legal regulations.
 
14. The Grand Theatre in Lodz informs that during performances, concerts, and other artistic and educational events, as well as during breaks and before and after these events, audiovisual materials documenting the statutory activities of the Theatre may be recorded. These recordings may be used for archival purposes, as well as for the promotion and information about the activities of the Grand Theatre in Łódź.

Participation in performances, concerts, and other artistic and educational events organized by the Grand Theatre in Łódź is equivalent to giving consent to record the image and distribute it for free on the website, social media, VOD platforms, and other promotional materials of the Grand Theatre in Łódź and third parties for documenting and disseminating information about the cultural and educational activities of the Grand Theatre in Łódź. The Grand Theatre in Łódź is entitled to record the course of performances, concerts, and other artistic and educational events organized by the Theatre using image and sound recording devices.
