On Wednesday, February 25, the inaugural press conference was held for the project ”Adaptation and Modernisation of the Space of the Grand Theatre in Łódź, Including the Purchase of Equipment and Furnishings”. Here is what the media are writing about the project.
TVP Łódź, reporting on the scope of the works, did not forget about the heart of the Theatre – the stage:

"As part of the modernization, the Grand Theatre will also gain an entirely new stage made of pine boards.
– That's no less than 2,800 square meters of surface area. And quite a logistical challenge, because we will need to replace the wooden stage covering during breaks between seasons," noted investment specialist Jerzy Nalej."

Radio Łódź provides information about the institution's continued operations:

"For now, the theatre is to operate normally. The most important works are to be carried out outside the season.
– The most demanding modernization works will take place in June and July. In the remaining months, we will continue our artistic activity, says Marcin Nałęcz-Niesiołowski, Director of the Grand Theatre in Łódź."

Portal Samorządowy focuses on the project's goals and funding sources:

"A significant portion of the funds (over 31 million PLN) comes from European Union co-financing. Thanks to the large-scale renovation, the Grand Theatre in Łódź will become a place more open to families with children, young people, and persons with disabilities."

Murator Plus writes about a strategic step for the region's culture:

"The Grand Theatre in Łódź is entering a new era. The investment worth nearly 50 million PLN will not only restore the historic building but, above all, open it up to new audiences through technology, education, and full accessibility. This is a strategic step for culture in the region."

Additionally, Urbanity reports that "One of the most important cultural institutions in Łódź is launching large-scale modernization works." And Łódź.pl focuses, among other things, on accessibility:

"The redesigned entrances to the Grand Theatre in Łódź will make the building easier to use for people with limited mobility. Hearing loop systems will be installed at service points to improve assistance for people who are hard of hearing at the box office and reception. A tactile plan with Braille descriptions will help visually impaired visitors navigate the space, while a specially prepared quiet room will provide comfort for people with sensory hypersensitivity, including people on the autism spectrum."
