Opera fairy tale in three acts.
This time, we are planning the preparation of a performance for which it would be difficult to define the age limit of its audience. Difficult, because such a boundary does not exist, and that's because "Hansel and Gretel," the opera fairytale - as the composer himself called his work - is for everyone: for those to whom we tell beautiful bedtime stories, for those who can read independently, but also for adults who, just like children, eagerly escape into the world of fairy tales, fantasies, and dreams, from their distant childhood. "Hansel and Gretel" is also a feast for the most discerning music lovers. Not without reason did Richard Wagner himself admire Humperdinck's opera. The excellent musical characterization of the characters, the richness of melodies, the diversity of moods, and the rich instrumentation guarantee a performance that will accompany successive generations of young music lovers. The premiere of this performance will complement the offer of our Theatre for the youngest viewers. It will be a family opera for the whole family, the first opera for children in Polish to be played on our stage in many years. On stage, we will see soloists, a children's and youth choir, ballet, and the orchestra of the Grand Theatre in Łódź.
