Opera in three acts. The work will be performed in the original Italian version with Polish subtitles.

Tosca is considered a flagship example of verismo opera, a genre in which Puccini was one of the leading representatives. It is undeniably a story full of shocking realism, drawn from real life, but also – if not above all – a moving tale of tragic love. Tosca is one of Puccini’s most famous works and one of the most frequently performed operas on stages around the world. The popularity of this title is no coincidence. The opera stands out with a fast-paced plot worthy of a great crime thriller, as well as a varied and memorable musical score that uses leitmotifs to great effect. The drama of Cavaradossi and Tosca is compelling also because it is universal, resonating with audiences across generations – in every era, individuals become entangled in the course of history, whose ruthless machinery grinds down even the noblest of feelings.
