ITALIAN OPERA GALA - OPERA ŁÓDŹ OPENER
Łódź Opera Opener – A Musical Journey Through Opera Masterpieces and Classic Italian Songs
We invite you to a unique outdoor concert, "Łódź Opera Opener," which will launch the new artistic season in grand style! It will be an evening full of passion, emotion, and unforgettable melodies — a meeting with the greatest masterpieces of Italian opera and famous Neapolitan songs, performed by outstanding soloists, the choir, and the orchestra of the Grand Theatre in Łódź.
The program features the spectacular overture to Gioachino Rossini’s "William Tell," as well as his famous, energetic Figaro’s cavatina from "The Barber of Seville." Giuseppe Verdi — the master of drama and emotion — will be heard four times: from the legendary aria "La donna è mobile" from "Rigoletto," through the dramatic quartet from the same opera, to the moving "Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves" from "Nabucco" and the monumental "Triumphal March" from "Aida." There will also be atmospheric excerpts from Giacomo Puccini’s operas — including Musetta’s and Mimi’s arias and the quartet from the finale of Act III of "La Bohème," the dramatic arias "Vissi d’arte" and "E lucevan le stelle" from "Tosca," and powerful emotions from the monumental opera "Turandot," culminating in the famous aria "Nessun dorma." The second part of the concert will be filled with beloved Italian songs, full of nostalgia and Mediterranean charm: "Chitarra Romana," "Torna a Surriento," "Core ’ngrato," and "Mamma son tanto felice." To finish — the lively "Funiculì, Funiculà" and the immortal "’O sole mio," performed together by all the soloists and the choir.
