For the audience and the residents of Łódź
data dodania:
27.03.2026The project “Adaptation and Modernisation of the Space of the Grand Theatre in Łódź, Including the Purchase of Equipment and Furnishings” (No. FENX.07.01-IP.04-0013/24) is addressed to a broad audience: regular theatre-goers and lovers of the classical repertoire, residents of Łódź and the surrounding region seeking cultural entertainment, children and young people taking part in workshops and educational performances, families benefiting from a dedicated programme offer, as well as people with disabilities.
The modernization will significantly improve the theatre’s accessibility. Rebuilt entrances will enable people with reduced mobility to use the building more freely; the theatre will be equipped with induction loop systems at service points to assist people with hearing impairments at the box office and in the administrative office; a tactile floor plan with Braille lettering will help blind visitors navigate the theatre space; and a new quiet room will be intended for people with sensory sensitivities, including autistic people.
Modern educational and multimedia spaces will be created in the renovated basement areas – workshop rooms for children and adults, as well as a television and recording studio (equipped with cameras, a production system, a blue box, and editing stations), which will make it possible to record short theatrical forms and broadcast performances online. These spaces will make it possible to deliver the planned 44 new online events and reach audiences who are unable to visit the theatre in person.
The project also aims to increase the annual number of visitors to more than 100,000 and to create 4 new jobs.
The project is co-funded by the European Union and being implemented under measure FENX.07.01 Culture and Cultural Tourism Infrastructure, Priority FENX.07 Culture, as part of the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate, Environment Programme 2021–2027.
