The 28th Lodz Ballet Festival has come to an end. Behind us lies a great celebration of dance—a time when the stage became a space for storytelling, emotions, and encounters beyond the boundaries of language.

The festival opened with our premiere of SUPERNOVA (choreography by Sharon Eyal and Jacek Przybyłowicz), performed by the Ballet Lodz company, initiating an extraordinary journey through the diverse aesthetics and sensibilities of contemporary dance. On our stage, we had the honor of hosting outstanding companies: English National Ballet with the program MASTERS IN MOTION: FORSYTHE / PITE (choreography by William Forsythe and Crystal Pite), and Gauthier Dance//Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart with the powerful performances TURNING OF BONES(choreography by Akram Khan) and ELEMENTS (choreography by Mauro Bigonzetti, Sharon Eyal, Andonis Foniadakis, and Louise Lecavalier). The festival concluded with OS MAIAS, performed by Companhia Nacional de Bailado (choreography by Fernando Duarte)—a fitting closing to this artistic narrative.

We extend our gratitude to the artists and creative teams—for their courage, sensitivity, and the beauty they brought to the stage—as well as to all the theatre staff involved in organizing the event and the technical crews, both from our theatre and the visiting companies.

We thank our audiences—for their presence, attentiveness, and for sharing in the experience of art, including during the meetings with artists in the foyer and the камерal hall. Special thanks go to Barbara Schabowska for hosting these conversations and to Piotr Krasnowolski for providing interpretation.

Our appreciation goes to the curator of the 28th edition, Jacek Przybyłowicz. It is thanks to his vision, as well as the many months of work by the Impresariat Department led by Krystyna Filip, and the commitment of the Theatre’s Director, Professor Marcin Nałęcz-Niesiołowski, along with Deputy Director for Artistic Affairs Rafał Janiak, that the festival resonated with such strength and at the highest level.

See you at the 29th Lodz Ballet Festival.
