Andrzej Kostrzewski is a graduate of the Academy of Music in Łódź, where he studied solo singing under the guidance of Prof. Zofia Stefańska. While still a student in 1984, he made his debut on the stage of the Grand Theatre in Łódź in the role of Wagner in Arrigo Boito's opera "Mefistofeles." Since then, with occasional breaks, he has been a soloist at our theatre.
 
He has portrayed many outstanding roles, highly praised by both theatrical and musical critics, and appreciated by the audience. Some of his most significant roles include: King Ubu in "King Ubu," Father Grandier in "The Devils of Loudun," Eugene Onegin in "Eugene Onegin," Ford in "Falstaff," Count di Luna in "Il Trovatore," Count Almaviva in "The Marriage of Figaro," Figaro in "The Barber of Seville," the Sword-Bearer in "The Haunted Manor," Janusz in "Halka," as well as leading roles in operas such as "Carmen," "The Silver Rose Knight," "Madama Butterfly," "A Masked Ball," and "Porgy and Bess."
 
Andrzej Kostrzewski has collaborated with many distinguished directors, including A. Hanuszkiewicz, M. Prus, R. Peryt, M. Weiss-Grzesiński, and W. Zawodziński. He has also successfully ventured into lighter repertoires, performing main roles in operettas and musicals such as "The Merry Widow," "Die Fledermaus," "Orpheus in the Underworld," "Can-Can," "Man of La Mancha," "Zorba," "Blue Castle," "My Fair Lady," and others.
 
Additionally, Andrzej Kostrzewski has worked with various national musical scenes, including the Musical Theatre in Warsaw, Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz, Opera and Operetta in Szczecin, Opera and Operetta in Krakow, and the Musical Theatre in Wrocław, among others. He frequently participates in concert performances across the country and has numerous international performances in Germany, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. His portrayals are characterized by outstanding acting skills and a high vocal level.
