SUPERNOVA
Our Ballet company is currently preparing for the premiere of the ballet diptych Supernova, which will open the 28th Łódź Ballet Meetings.
Asking AI what a supernova is may yield a surprising answer: it’s not just the birth of a new star, but primarily a process that begins with the death of a planetary structure, giving rise to a new form of existence.
It’s hard to imagine this from a terrestrial perspective. Yet, the time we live in carries the marks of a broader twilight—the end of old pacts and social agreements, the close of a status quo that once offered us relative historical security.
Echoes balances between reality and the past, highlighted by Adam Walicki’s music, which fuses contemporary sounds with echoes of bygone times, choreographically unified by Jacek Przybyłowicz.
Bedroom Folk by Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar, forming the second part of the evening, is dramaturgically an expression of the society to come—or perhaps a retro-future vision of a supercivilization. We do not seek definitive answers to these questions; they remain open for the audience of Supernova to interpret.
Join us in the audience on April 11 and 12.
