The New Year’s Eve and New Year Concert titled “Wiener nacht” at the opera is a significant artistic event, drawing on the rich tradition of Vienna’s New Year concerts—symbols of elegance, musical craftsmanship, and the joy of shared celebration. It also continues our programming line focused on promoting European culture through monographic concerts, each year dedicated to the music of a different country. In previous years, these have included Italy, Spain, and France.

The concert programme features works by masters of the Viennese classical tradition, in particular compositions by the Strauss family, as well as pieces by other outstanding composers associated with Vienna’s musical heritage.

The event has a gala character and represents an important element of our theatre’s cultural activity, combining high artistic quality with the promotion of classical music among a wide audience. The concert will feature soloists, as well as the ballet and orchestra, creating a spectacle that will remain in your memory for a long time.
