"THE JOY OF MERCY" - an oratorio composed by Jan Kanty Pawluśkiewicz to the words of Leszek Aleksander Moczulski - was created to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the election of Cardinal Karol Wojtyła as Pope, and its premiere took place on October 16, 2008, at the Poznań Fara.

We are particularly close to discovering the truth about the mercy of God as written in the encyclical "Dives in Misericordia" from 1980, and whether we have met the teachings of John Paul II contained therein... Are we responding today to the papal message about God's mercy, but also about human mercy towards our neighbor, even in one aspect - for example, concerning the sense of dignity?...

This is how the authors of this musical work describe the message that accompanied them in creating a piece that perfectly corresponds with the figure of Saint Faustina - a nun and dedicated proclaimer of the cult of Divine Mercy, known as the apostle of God's mercy.
In her diary, she described sufferings and adversities, mystical states she experienced, and above all, numerous visions and revelations. She died on October 5, 1938.

This year marks precisely 85 years since the death of St. Faustina Kowalska, who was declared the Patroness of Łódź by Archbishop Władysław Ziółek on December 10, 2005, and 100 years since the first revelations experienced by St. Faustina.
We invite you to a concert at the Archcathedral Basilica in Łódź, where the music of Jan Kanty Pawluśkiewicz performed by well-known and beloved artists will not only bring you moments of relaxation but also touch your hearts and prompt reflection on our own activities on a topic so close to John Paul II and the Patroness of our city... Performing for you will be: Iwona Socha, Andrzej Lampert, Michał Sławecki, Choir and Orchestra of the Grand Theatre in Łódź, and Vivid Singers Chamber Choir, the entire concert will be conducted by conductor Rafał Janiak.

Join us – this will be a concert that will stay in your and our memory for a long time.
