MAD VIOLIN and more!

 

Ahead of us are worldwide hits of classical, film, and world music, broken by the virtuosic improvisations of the Roby LAKATOS Banda artists. The musicians of the band are outstanding and charismatic virtuosos, balancing on the edge of classical, jazz, world music, and open, often surprising improvisations for the listeners. The concert that the artists propose is a kind of invitation to a magical journey to the nostalgic mood of the Hungarian puszta (interspersed with hot and passionate violin virtuosity) and to the intriguing world of the Orient, film music of various genres, and open improvisation on its themes.

 

The special guest of the concert will be Roby Lakatos - a figure who defies any classifications - at the same moment, he is a mad gypsy violinist, a spiritual klezmer, and a perfectly flawless virtuoso, and then a jazzman and a master of musical improvisation. The artist performs not only with the Klezmer Karma formation and the Yiddish singer - Myriam Fuks but also with the great Martha Argerich and classical ensembles - Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra and Vieuxtemps Quartet.

 

The artist will be accompanied by: Anna Wandtke (Polish violinist), Jenő Lisztes (Hungarian cimbalom player), Kalman Cseki (Czech pianist), Paweł Zagańczyk (Polish accordionist), and Sebastian Wypych (Polish double bassist).

 

And what's in the repertoire? World music: from the so-called serious one, through operetta, musical, and opera hits, to entertaining and jazz in the best - though often surprising interpretations!
