As a prologue, a choral hymn to Fortuna - the ever-changing and capricious goddess of human destinies resounds?

 

Part I: About Spring - these are songs praising the beauty of nature awakening to life with spring, when Phoebus-Sun with its rays drives away the Earth, and Flora adorns the world with fresh greenery, and songs extolling May, which ignites love in human hearts. Girls ask the wandering peddler to give them paints to paint their cheeks and lure boys to them.

 

Part II: At the Tavern - songs full of peculiar fantasy resound over the cup, one of them praises earthly life, the other speaks of feelings... ...a swan, which, being stewed in a pot, complains about the variability of earthly destinies, the third in a humorous way parodies liturgical chants. At the end, everyone intones a praise to Bacchus.

 

Part III: About Love - talks about the pleasures and anxieties of love. In the conclusion, the choir sings in honor of Venus - however, since it is not Venus but Fortuna who truly rules the world, the whole work concludes with a repetition of the initial hymn in her honor.

 

Carmina Burana is an absolute hit of classical music; fragments of this piece are used by many performers, both creators of music for commercials and heavy metal bands. Every performance fills the halls to the last seat. The motto of the whole piece is the apotheosis of life and the affirmation of the world. The piece is composed for orchestra, choir, and solo voices, dominated by rhythm and simply harmonized choral parts. The most famous fragment is - known not only to music lovers - the chorus's song O Fortuna, which both opens and closes the piece.
