NOVEMBER 11TH - NATIONAL SINGING DAY
 

Singing together has been known to us for centuries. It accompanies significant events, it can be a spontaneous reaction to what pains or delights us, and often it adds faith and hope, ultimately bringing a sense of connection and community. It is also - in the case of important events - our expression of gratitude, respect, and memory.

 

What a wonderful opportunity for collective singing is the annual date - November 11th!

 

It's impossible to capture the euphoria, the frenzy of joy that engulfed the Polish people at this moment. After 120 years, the barriers burst. There is no "them." Freedom! Independence! Unity! Our own country! Forever! Chaos? Nothing to worry about. Everything will be fine. Everything will be because we are free! - wrote Jędrzej Moraczewski - an independence politician, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland (1918, 1919), a long-time member of parliament and minister.

 

This joy, but also immense gratitude for the "inheritance," is also present in us today. So let's sing together on November 11th - on the day of our celebration, joy, and gratitude… Let's be together at the Grand Theatre in Łódź with our artists, who - like everyone else - want to express their enthusiasm, joy, and respect for those who have given us freedom and independence.

 

This could be an unforgettable holiday for all of us, especially as we join the Niepodległa campaign to sing the anthem at 12 o'clock together with the whole of Poland.
