MONIUSZKO ON A JOURNEY with the Włodek Pawlik Trio

 

This is our next artistic proposition for the Łódź region as part of the concert series initiated by Grzegorz Schreiber, the Marshal of the Łódź Voivodeship - "WITH OPERA THROUGH ŁÓDŹ". This time we embark on a journey to you, along with the Włodek Pawlik Trio and the orchestra of the Grand Theatre in Łódź, with the music of Stanisław Moniuszko in a different interpretative rendition than before.

 

In addition to jazz compositions, Włodek Pawlik has in his repertoire soundtracks for feature and documentary films, television theater, music for poetry, opera, cantatas, compositions for chamber and symphonic orchestras, ballet music, and for theater performances and radio dramas. Włodek Pawlik - a jazz composer and pianist - is a laureate of many significant Polish and foreign competitions and festivals, and his musical creativity is admired by audiences far beyond the borders of our country. He has collaborated with many Polish and American jazz performers, such as Janusz Muniak, Randy Brecker, Scott Hamilton, Billy Hart, Richie Cole, Mike Stern, Tom Kennedy, and the Western Jazz Quartet.

 

In the concert that we will bring to you, we have a wonderful opportunity to experience the musical imagination of this Artist. This time he will "tackle" Stanisław Moniuszko and his well-known compositional work. The pieces of our national composer will sound different, but equally attractive and valuable! We are convinced that the music of Stanisław Moniuszko in a new - contemporary and ... jazz - arrangement by Włodek Pawlik will surprise and win over fans of Moniuszko's talent and the wonderful interpretive visions performed by the Włodek Pawlik Trio accompanied by the orchestra of the Grand Theatre in Łódź conducted by Michał Kocimski.
