XXV LODZ BALLET FESTIVAL

11 MAY - 23 JUNE 2019

The Grand Theatre in Łódź invites you to the XXV edition of the Lodz Ballet Meetings. This dance biennial has a 50-year tradition. Due to the fact that this will be a jubilee edition, we have decided that the program must also be exceptional. As always, it will cater to various tastes, so that every ballet enthusiast - whether classical or contemporary - will surely find a proposition in the program that will provide them with unforgettable experiences.

The significance and uniqueness of the Lodz Ballet Meetings were defined by the names of choreographers and their companies such as Maurice Béjart, Alicia Alonso, Jiří Kylián, William Forsythe, Daniel Ezralow, Boris Eifman, Mats Ek, Birgit Cullberg, and many others, whose stage works set directions for the development of choreographic art and ballet as a whole. Among the most important companies performing on the stage of the Grand Theatre in Łódź are: Maurice Béjart's 20th Century Ballet, Nederlands Dans Theater, Sadler’s Wells, Royal Ballet, Ballet Rambert, Cullberg Ballet, Batsheva Dance Company, Bolshoi Ballet from Moscow, St. Petersburg Boris Eifman Ballet Theatre, Ballet Nacional de Cuba, Stuttgart Ballet, Elisa Monte Dance Company, Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company, Akram Khan Company. For 50 years of the festival's operation, the best dancers have performed on our stage, not only in classical ballet but also in other dance forms.

Funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund and the funds of the Łódź Voivodeship Self-Government.
